You have found Kyle Dwyer and Hannah Whitehouse. This
is our site that tracks our travels, family and venture into
home building. You can read more about us and follow our expeditions
as well as the trials and tribulations of building our own home from
the dirt up. We may not be the most exciting and hip team, but we have
fun, always bite off way more than we can chew and have a good laugh
all the way through. So dig in, feel free to think we are insane (most
do) and most of all Enjoy :)

January 25th - Double Wide is liveable and quite cozy
Between Kyle, Jo and Hannah, the double wide is now quite a cozy and CLEAN temporary abode, it will almost be sad to see it torn down at the end of the year. It toook Jo 3 days to clean the kitchen alone but it was worth it (at least I hope she thinks so).
Kyle is in the midst of rewiring the shop so we don't light on fire when we turn the lights on and we have already had Eric from Organic Architect and his team up here for a perusal and assessment, if they think we have lost our minds then they were polite enough not to blurt it out. We will see what they come back with and what it will cost...eek!
December 11th - It's Official, We Own 6001 Shoo Fly Rd
We closed tonight on 6001 Shoo Fly Rd, 22 gorgeous acres near Georgetown, CA. Its stunning and we are so excited, although now begins all the hard work. Check out the container house link for udpates on our progress.

Hannah and Jo drove across country with Wolf and Denali and all of Hannah's things and poor Kyle worked!
September 13 & 14th - Caving in Lilburn, Kings
Canyon, CA
This weekend Kyle and Hannah went down to the research cave,
Lilburn in King Canyon National Park, CA where we spent a day down
in the caves, crawling and squirming the tiny passages to see the
most beautiful formations. It was an amazing adventure with some
interesting people - read more and see pics.....
June 11th - June 21st - Jo (Hannah's mom) and Ziggy
arrive in California
My mom flew out this week with our newest addition to our family,
Ziggy Whitehouse Dwyer. He is a male Border Terrier who is quite
precocious and the cutest ever. We had an amazing week out in the
Eastern Sierra's breaking Ziggy into the wilds of canyon hiking,
river fording and camping. Read more and see baby Ziggy pics......
April 29th - May 9th - Cave Rescue Training in
Alabama
The last week and a half, Kyle has spent in Northeast Alabama at a
Cave Rescue Training Class where he will receive his Level 3 Cave
Rescue Certification. So stay tuned for pictures and in-depth
coverage of how his week went and to learn exactly how to extract
a half conscious, 250lb male from a pitch black, muddy cave the
size of an oil drum..........
April 24th - April 28th - Kentucky
I finally dragged Kyle to a horse show - even if he did miss the
most exciting part. We ventured out to watch the
2008 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington, KY. It was a
fun weekend seeing some great competition and getting to meet up
with my great friends from Virginia, Kristy and Byron Poindexter
as well as seeing my mom AND spending the week with Denali, the
newly adopted puppy. For more on this weekend...
May 15th - May 28th
Costa Rica came and went and will not be a repeat venture again,
at least we hope not. Between losing luggage, robbed twice, stung
by a scorpion and 5 and half hour traffic jams - its not a county
I need to see again. Oh, and its one of the least
environmentally responsible places I have ever been, don't believe
what you hear:-(
